Hate against Prius drivers
I daily commute with a Prius 2012 but on the weekend I drive mostly the Forester or Minivan. But twice I had pickups tried to run me off the road when I tried to move to the right lane to exit with signal blinkers on. Pickup driver sped up and nearly made me get into an accident. Totally unnecessary as there was plenty of distance and I wasn't cutting anyone off but both times the same situation. Trying to change lanes in order to exit and a pickup truck refuse to give. Now I have never had this situation with any other car. But noticed this kind of behavior by some drivers on the road specifically when I'm driving the Prius.
Now I am not a slow driver, I daily hit 75-83mph on the highways and my avg speed is 29mph.Vision33r Feb 25, 2019 Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News Read More Views: 1,539 Likes: 0 Replies: 4 -

IIHS measures pedestrian crash systems
Source: New ratings address pedestrian crashes
Reducing pedestrian crashes is the goal of new IIHS ratings of automatic emergency braking systems that can detect and brake for people on foot. In the first tests of 2018–19 vehicles with this crash avoidance feature, 9 of 11 small SUVs evaluated earn an advanced or superior rating for pedestrian crash prevention.
The 2018–19 Honda CR-V, 2019 Subaru Forester, 2019 Toyota RAV4 and 2019 Volvo XC40 earn the highest rating of superior. Five models earn an advanced rating. They are the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, 2018–19 Hyundai Kona, 2019 Kia Sportage, 2018–19 Mazda CX-5 and 2019 Nissan Rogue. The 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander is rated basic, and the 2018–19 BMW X1 doesn't receive any credit for a rating. Pedestrian detection is standard on the Forester, RAV4, Rogue, X1 and XC40.

Snow job about EV range in heat and cold
By now, anyone with a pulse who reads/watches the news has seen a blizzard of titles touting EVs lose "40%" of range in the cold. Here is a small sampling of these news titles:
![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fhiwaay.net%2F%7Ebzwilson%2FBMW%2Fblizard_010.jpg&hash=c802d1cd1fcfeb79971c046a5ed19508)
Although technically correct, they are misquoting the report and seldom discuss all of the results. The AAA did publish a link to the report and I started a thread in the "EV" area with a link to the report and hope we can discuss the technical details:
Heat and cold effects on EV | PriusChat
The AAA sponsored report is a well written, quality, engineering report. Sad to say, many reporters and editors, especially the lazy, non-technical, or anti-EV crowd, are too quick to misquote. This means you'll likely find co-workers or family members who will ask you about the loss of range even if you drive a hybrid. So I wanted to offer two, quick replies before suggesting 'lets...bwilson4web Feb 9, 2019 Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News Read More Views: 6,573 Likes: 0 Replies: 49 -

Android Auto to be included in 2020 Toyota Trucks.
All grades of 2020 Sequoia, Tundra, 4Runner and Tacoma will include "upgraded audio" that will include Android Auto. Interesting that they do not use the term "Etune" at all in the press release. Aside from adding Android Auto, nothing else sounds different from Etune 3.0
I know this has nothing to do with hybrids but I also know that many on PriusChat are interested in Toyota's plans for Android Auto.
