Tesla, GM, Nissan, and others form coalition to reform electric vehicle tax credit
"Several automakers, including Tesla, GM, and Nissan, have joined forces with other players in the electric vehicle space to launch a “coalition” with the aim to “reform and recharge” the electric vehicle tax credit.

Last month, a Republican senator introduced a new bill to end the $7,500 federal tax credit for electric cars and tax them even more instead.
But a few days later, another Republican senator proposed a new bill to remove the federal tax credit cap for EVs and expand it to 2022.
Republican Senator Dean Heller, who introduced the pro EV tax credit bill that would see it extended instead of capped, was defeated in the mid-term elections earlier this month.

Ontario call to action - Province asking for ideas for Climate Change - Only until Nov 16
Fellow Ontarians - (and anyone else who wants to impersonate one
)...
In light of cancelling the incentives earlier this year (and likely the resulting backlash), the Province has asked for ‘ideas on key areas of focus’ against climate change... (not sure if the fb link will work, so I will include the direct URL as well);

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) intends to sell electric cars for less than 20,000 euros ($22,836) and protect German jobs by converting three factories to make Tesla (TSLA.O) rivals, a source familiar with the plans said.

- Prius Prime - appears to be a popular plug-in hybrid even though SouthEast and Midwest Toyota won't sell them! No advertising along with limited availability.
- Model X/S - are trending upwards but they are 2-4x the cost of a Prius Prime. Not bad for cars like the Prius Prime that are not advertised and can't be 'sold' in some states.

From the 80s we dropped to the 50s and sure enough, the Prius Prime low pressure light came on. So I pulled the 12V tire pressure pump out of the bag and it disassembled itself:

I picked up all of the parts except for the fuse spring. Good this happened at home instead of in some remote area with a flat tire!

Proposed Senate Bill to Lift Individual $7,500 Tax Credit Manufacturer Cap
Under current law, once a manufacturer hits 200,000 EVs sold, the tax credit phases out starting in the following quarter. Heller’s bill lifts the individual manufacturer cap but would phase out the credit for the entire industry in 2022.
