Counting the minuets to I-Pace
Source: Jaguar Delays Some I-Pace Deliveries Due To Prioritization
Jaguar is scheduled to ship out their first all-electric vehicle later this year. Dubbed the I-Pace, this small SUV (Sports Activity Vehicle) is certainly one of the most appealing EVs to come to the market in 2018. The high-interest rates were translated into reservations for this vehicle, making it one of the most sought of after vehicles in recent years. But, there seem to be some issues regarding its production and delivery dates....
According to Electrek, some customers have been issued delivery dates pushed back for several months. The dealers are stating the delays are due to “manufacturing issues,” while the company itself is stating they are simply “prioritizing” orders for just a few customers.

Plug-in Better then all EV?
I was looking over an app I downloaded....Chargepoint ...as well as Blinks. I am impressed and see in the Philadelphia area there are a ton of charge points, some are free while some are costly (some are expensive). So numbers of chargers are increasing for both plug-in or all EV models.
I live 50 miles from Philadelphia in South Jersey. But when I start looking at the benefits of having a plug-in compared to an 'all electric EV' I have to think that a plug-in works best. With a plug-in, I have 'range' of 600+ miles with my Prius. I was talking with a guy at my gym who has a Bolt. His range is 200 and then needs to 'sit and wait' for a recharge. He needs to travel from South Jersey to Iowa for a family function and needs to figure out how to get there without renting a car to do it, or, sitting in charging stations and increasing his time to get to Iowa.
Given the price of some of the Charge stations, they equal the price of gas, if not more in some cases. So I question the true...lmans66 Jul 25, 2018 Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News Read More Views: 4,213 Likes: 0 Replies: 45 -
EV News Round-up: Europe & UK
For our EV enthusiasts outside of the US, here's a short roundup of interesting EV news!
- By the end of 2018, Amazon Logistics will have 100 eVitos in its fleet at its Bochum and Düsseldorf locations.
- World's largest electric-car rally kicked off in Switzerland
- The UK wants every new home to come with an EV charger. The "Automated and Electric Vehicles Bill" will also ensure that charging points are installed at freeway service stations and large gas retailers.
- The French capital has already tested a "day without cars," and has discussed banning internal-combustion cars by 2030. That makes Paris the perfect place to launch an electric car-sharing service.
Have any good stories to add?...Team ChargePoint Jul 21, 2018 Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News Read More Views: 605 Likes: 0 Replies: 0 - By the end of 2018, Amazon Logistics will have 100 eVitos in its fleet at its Bochum and Düsseldorf locations.

2019 Honda Insight Hybrid: Intriguing Competitor to Prius
Just saw this today and was curious of peoples' thoughts:
2019 Honda Insight - Hybrid of style and efficiency | Honda
- I love the design and that it doesn't scream different just because it can.
- The technology package seems far superior to the current Prii (mind you I love my Prime Advanced technology).
- 151 HP
- MSRP is rather competitive.

EV Myths - add your own!
There are a lot of misconceptions about EVs out there. Here are 3 we see circulating most often.
MYTH 1: EVs don’t have enough range
- Reality: EVs don't go as long between charges as gas cars go between fill-ups, but they don’t have to. The average U.S. driver travels only 30 miles a day, well within the range of any EV, and those with long-range driving needs have their pick of EVs with 125+ miles of range.
MYTH 2: EVs aren't environmentally friendly because electricity comes from coal
- Reality: EVs cut greenhouse gas emissions in half, no matter how the energy used to charge them is produced. If you live in a state that produces most of its energy from renewable sources, you can reduce your emissions even more. EVs waste less of the energy they consume.
MYTH 3: It takes too long to charge
- Reality: Charging an EV takes only a few seconds: the time it takes to plug the car in before you go do...

Tesla hits 200,000 U.S. Plug-in cars (GM soon)
Wow an important milestone, also reduces Fed tax credit
Tesla hits 200,000 cars, meaning lower tax credit for buyers
"(Reuters) - Tesla Inc has delivered 200,000 electric cars to buyers in the United States, a spokesperson said on Thursday, meaning tax credits will now begin to be lowered, while rivals such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW AG and Audi AG will bring electric models to the market with a full tax credit in place.
Both GM and Tesla have been lobbying Congress since last year, hoping to win changes to tax law that would allow them to continue to collect the tax credit, but have been unsuccessful to date."wjtracy Jul 13, 2018 Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News Read More Views: 1,428 Likes: 0 Replies: 18 -
Ontario Ends the Electric and Hydrogen Vehicle and Charging Incentive Programs
On July 3, 2018, Ontario cancelled the cap and trade program as part of its commitment to bring gas prices down by 10 cents a litre and help reduce costs for Ontario families and businesses by $1.9 billion dollars per year.
Given the Electric and Hydrogen Vehicle Incentive Program and the Electric Vehicle Charging Incentive Programs are funded through cap-and-trade proceeds, these programs are cancelled.
Applications will be accepted from dealerships, car owners or prospective car owners only if one of the following conditions has been met:
- Eligible vehicles that have been delivered to consumers, registered, and plated on or before July 11 will receive the incentive.
- Inventory that dealers have on lots or orders made by dealerships with manufacturers on or before July 11, will also be honoured for the incentive provided that the vehicle is delivered to consumers, registered, and plated by September 10.

Review of the 2018 Kia Niro PHEV
Hey everyone,
I just posted my week-long commuter review of the Kia Niro PHEV.
Definitely some pluses but also a few minuses. All-in-all, my initial impression is that this is a solid PHEV contender.

Fisker designs an ugly
Source: BOSS Magazine | Fisker Orbit, New Partnership Announced by Fisker Inc.
This is supposed to be a shuttle vehicle.
The original Fisker appealed to Bob Lutz enough that he bought some gliders to install Corvette drivetrains. It never really appealed to me because of the faux engine compartment but here it is:
I can't explain why but the Fisker shuttle really looks bad to me and I'm not particularly interested in 'sheet metal art.' It would be kind to call it bullet shaped but more accurate to call it a 'Vitamin E' or some sort of suppository. All I can say for me is UGH!

Tesla needs to Catch up
With all the news about Tesla, you would think they are the number one in EV manufacture and sales in the world. But this is not the case at all. The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance is still the biggest EV car maker. Then you have many Chinese brands that are selling lots in China.orenji Jun 29, 2018 Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News Read More Views: 11,526 Likes: 3 Replies: 161
