    Not sure about "a little less bad".

    A petrol Corolla/Mazda3/Focus - similar size to a PRIUS in real world testing uses over double the fuel. And - if hypermiled, the PRIUS will do even better.

    But the reality here is - Toyota HiLux (Tacoma?) is the biggest selling vehicle in the country by far - and it uses over 3 times the amount diesel (4 times for the rare petrol version sold).

    even as far back as 2014 hybrid purchasers have disagreed w/ the premise that PHEV's & BEV's are environmentally & financially better.

    In stead, they've been jumping ship and taking a bunch of ICE sales as well ....
    With a substantial % of plugin owners recharging off solar - they're not even having to buy gas regularly, if at all.
    And plugin sale increases are despite flat gas prices.

    No flat gas prices around here, they've risen 20-25 cents in the past couple of weeks.
    More Teslas heading to the staging area.
