if the us le spec is similar, i'll be happy with that. i like the 17" tires and longer range.

heated steering wheel would be great, but idk if we'll get it.

one door sks is disappointing, but i can live with it

Ahh, Dan you must be a lawyer. And it's always the "asterisks" that bite you in the behind when you sign on the dotted line. LOL

I would not buy the Aptera if I lived in Seattle or areas that get limited sun in winter. Plus check your life insurance policy because if the Aptera gets hits by another car going over 45 MPH or higher, it could be "check out time".

I don't see how it could be more than slightly disappointing, but then I've never had multi-door sks. You just have to walk a little more with one-door. (It can easily be set to unlock all doors when you touch the driver's door handle.)

The full solar panel is optional on the Aptera. The roof and dash area is standard, but that appears to be about half the total surface area the PV can have.. Still feels gimmicky to me, but the efficiency difference means it will likely get more miles of range from the sun than the Prius Prime.

Safety wise, it should be better than the EV scooter I suggested it as an alternative too.

you don't know what you've lost unless you've had it. i often approach the car from the passenger side to let my wife in, and use the hatch a lot.
it's just a matter of dragging the fob out of my pocket, but still, i'll miss it. and i'm not into most of the amenities. i can live without power seats, pleather, power lift back, umongus screens, driving nannies and etc. because i've never had them.

While I've said SKS isn't something that was a must have for me after having it, it is nice to have it back.

3-door SKS is something I'd be very reluctant to give up. Seems like Toyota was struggling to find something to drive customers to the higher levels.

That is starting to limit your choices as for either weight or battery fitment reasons many new car designs don't have a spare.

Even a limited use doughnut spare can be essentially useless.

My case 300 miles from home with 7 year old and bolt through the tread. Wait 2 days before they could find a matching tire. Trip essentially shot.

i don't go far without my compact spare, even though it has to sit on the hatch floor. if there were an option, i would buy it

Works for me. Around town, get a flat, it'll get you home or to a repair shop. Avoid the freeway; other'n that way more utile than the slime kit.

The 1 door SKS on the low trim is how the Prius is now.

I think all companies are struggling with what to put on the trims. Between what buyers now view as standard, and costs of just having options, they seem limited. Power windows were once an enticement for higher trims. These days, the cost of designing the manual cranks and accompanying door panels probably aren't worth the cost for the few price leader units they plan to build.

Since I started carrying around a plug kit, I haven't used the spares I have. The couple of punctures in the past decade were handled by it. The only time in my life where a plug wouldn't work was a blow out back when I was 10.

The tire repair kits the manufacturers supply aren't worth whatever they charged for it. If you are okay with using slime for a repair, and I once did before it came with a powered pump, there are better after market slime compressors, with cheaper refills, that can be used as just an air compressor.

As I said, it's a matter or one-door requiring you to walk a little more. You don't have to drag the fob out of your pocket, but just have to walk to the driver's door first before walking back to the right side or hatch.
