That's not too much compare to my town (in Iowa) Gas price went up $0.57 between my last fillup (3/3) and the previous one (2/15). Well, might not be too much dollar-wise, but it's a 29.5% increase in a 16 days. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(adoraim @ Mar 5 2007, 03:47 PM) </div>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rxmxsh @ Mar 5 2007, 11:08 PM) </div> The longer you wait the more it'll cost. Especially with prices going the direction they are. You probably won't be able to get more than 10 gallons in anyway this time of year. I've never been able to squeeze in more than 10.5 gal. Dave M.
I read an article today suggesting that the current gas prices are higher than what the government projected for the second and third quarters of this year. Of course, all that means is that their projections were idiotic...anyone who thought this wasn't coming should be referred directly to me concerning some water-front property at a great price . The price went up rapidly here, too. I filled up on 2/21 for $2.36 per, and again on 3/2 for $2.58. My cheapest fill of the winter was $2.18 on 2/10, which means that the price increased 40 cents per gallon in exactly three weeks at that particular station.
I'm happy that gas prices are going up and I drive a Prius. All those people who bought trucks and SUVs when gas prices dipped won't be so happy now. Maybe next time they will buy a car with better fuel economy and help the environment.

A graph of gas prices from May 2003 to .....2007 Updated 3/8/07: [attachmentid=6815] EDIT 3/14/07: $3.34 PREMIUM !
Simi Valley Calif., 3/8/07. fill up @ $3.09/gal. Station across the street $3.13. Factually it IS their gas and they can charge what they want. Seems to me its up to US to do something about this situation. Me thinks the "Prius Glut" may be short lived. Carl
WOW-- Today in Agoura Ca. stations were in the $3.15 range up from $3.09 yesterday. Nothing in the papers that I've seen to explain the rise. Carl
Yeah, I got lucky. Gassed up at Costco for $2.93. On my way home I see my corner station, which is usually at or below Costco listed at $3.01. I get home and turn on the news and rising gas prices are all over. California higher than Hawaii. Switch to summer gas. Refineries can't produce enough. And it's "boutique" gas. That said, the consumer watchdog group says oil is what it was a year ago but the price is $0.30 higher per gallon. Are they gouging? Yes. Because they can. Are the refineries keeping gas just scarce enough? Yes. Gas prices will continue to rise and stay high until at least May. I'm still taking bets we'll break $4 this year.
