Gear joystick to the steering wheel

While not exactly on the column, the Gen 1 Prius had a fairly conventional Single Stalk Control. I much prefer the transmission control on my Gen II. The electronic control is much more sophisticated, and easy to use. The Stalk on the 1st Gen is in the way of other controls. On my Gen II I can reach the joystick without taking my hand off the wheel. I haven't driven one, but, Gen 3 looks less convenient to use than Gen 2 to me.
