My Toyota dealer (A1 in CT) does free oil changes for cars bought at their dealership (at 10k mile intervals, If I want it done more often, I do it myself evry other time). I just check the dipstick afterwards to confirm that they filled it to the correct level. They use the correct synthetic oil and Toyota oil filters.

They charge you because you keep paying them!
4.4qts is what the manual says with oil filter change.

Find it in your maintanence book and show them and then tell them you want $15 + tax back
for each oil change. And any damage from over filling will be on their ticket!

You sometimes see ads worded something like this:

"Oil and filter changer, up to 6 quarts, $XX"

Could be something like that, a blanket charge, as long as it's under 6?
