GM would push themselves to a safe distance ahead of Toyota in the race to be the biggest in the future so there's something to be said for them buying Chrysler but the local papers and analysts are saying that it won't happen. The one obvious thing to be said against the merger is that it's doubtful that GM would subject itself to inheriting Chrysler's may problems which would exacerbate GM's: too many gas guzzlers and too many union members. Won't happen, sorry.
