I'm intrigued that a still living famous person's principal residence is so easily obtainable you can Googlemap it (if it is the principal residence and not simply the birthplace). And if this person is wealthy (as implied), is this just one of twenty homes around the globe? I think we're gonna need some more help - lotta famous people out there & it's too much trial and error without some means of narrwoing the search, or deducing whom it is from a bit more information than "famous" "rich" "alive" "has a house in a non-USA city". Agreed, finding an actual address is difficult, especially for someone who - ironically - doesn't get out much. As far as I could sleuth out, this is the current abode, if not the principle residence. The name of the city, where this person has lived since the late fifties, will suffice. This person's name is so revered, in certain circles, that there are circles in their name.
Now we're getting somewhere! Except I have to go do some airplane maintenance so won't get back to this screen until late this evening. But someone else ought to be able to stalk the celebrity to an ID! MB

Alright, time for a few more clues to give it away and keep the game going. For the 'circles named after him' clue, think really big picture, not traffic circle. A famous author, yes, but also a renaissance man with many globally significant achievements. That should help...
Not Stephen Hawking, but getting warmer in several ways. Born in England, emigrated to his current home in 1956. Inventor, lecturer, TV show presenter, knight... Figure out the who first, then the where.
Arthur C. Clarke Columbo, Sri Lanka Dang!! That was a killer. I'm at work so nothing to post, someone please take it.
Hurray! Sorry, I really hadn't intended that to be so difficult. The 'circles named after him' clue was a reference to the Clarke orbit of geostationary satellites. I don't dare post another one just yet, so I'm leaving it open too.

Then you said he didn't get out much, and mentioned circles, I thought that was a give-away. That's my penalty for not checking daily!
