The latest one began about 9 years ago.Im surprised this one hasn't been solved yet.As they are each enormous events in history.But so far your guessing is cold.

Not really .They just came to mind in that order.

 

If I calculate correctly, the first picture's event happened in 1966. An even more famous occurrence of the same thing happened a few miles away at the second picture in 1939. And a third occurrence is most famous of all that started in 1998, again, just a few miles away in the third picture. Somewhere in LA, SFO or San Diego (the only street views in California).

"Began" in 1998 - as in an event still going on, or that transpired over a period of several days, weeks, months or years?

I haven't got any ideas but I'm sure we're all going to bang our foreheads when we find out!

OK the original image was Steve Jobs garage .Origin of Apple .Second was HP garage, origin of Silicon Valley. Third was Google garage.

Without giving anything away, this picture brings to mind Marc Reisner's excellent treatise on the politics of water management in the United States, "Cadillac Desert". Can you guess how many dams the stature and/or the hydro-generating power equivalent of Hoover Dam there are in the United States? The answer may be a shock (pardon the pun).

Winslow, Arizona, near Meteor Crater east of Flagstaff and at the southern extremity of the Painted Desert. Don't know the song, though.

The southwest is full of these arid valleys made green by circular irrigation - they look like giant pixels. This is a particularly picturesque one adjacent a national park (indicated by the arrow).
