I, and I am sure many others appreciate you taking the time and effort to write and illustrate this. Well done!
Thanks man. My dad taught me how to change the oil in our family cars back 20 years ago. I just slowly learned more and more and more moving to engine swaps. Here’s one in my garage (swapping a 2.0 liter SR20VE motor (187 hp / 162 ft lbs of torque) into my 1992 Sentra SE-R (original motor is a 140hp/132 ft lbs torque.)Notice the “‘NEO VVL” badges on the motor. Other than the color of the valve color and those badges the motors look identical but the motor has a 8600RPM redline (opposed to 7200/7500 RPM redline depending on chassis). Similar To Honda’s VTEC a “NEO VVL” in the SR20VE motor stands for Nissan variable valve lift”. The grey valve cover motor was in my 2000 Infiniti G20t.
Also in case anyone else w/ this generation Prius is ever unfortunate enough for this to happen to, or something similar, this thread will exist to hopefully help them out.
