@Tideland Prius: Still not showing anything. I’m trying to quote post #18, which is purely quotes. Could it be it’s always been thus, lol?

 

You only get non-quoted text when using Reply or the Quote function.

This is how I have done it which is simply a screen capture.



If the post was buried in another thread or it was one of those endless "vent" type threads, I might reference the post using Copy Link of the post number, in this case post 18.

Sometimes I just send a private message and let the member update his question in a case like this where the answer is already in the thread.
