Heat keeps getting redirected to floor vents with dash vents selected

    Damn, we leased a 2010 for three years and never realized what it was, even having read the manual. That's the button with all the arrows...?

    Yep, and it also turns the A/C compressor on to keep the humidity down with the fresh air cut off.

    Thank you jdk2 for your gracious reply, explanation of terseness, honest expression of annoyance at ignorance of new owner (Scan Gauge II and/or OBDII reader?? Still ignorant but I will endeavor to search on my own, thanks for providing the product names).
    Just what's needed, a simple map leading directly to the required info. Thanks a lot retired4999! A few dollars spent at Home Despot gave me the pipe insulation I need, now I need a break in the horrific weather going on now to wash road sludge off the grille bars. Man, this Prius thing is fun.

    Our 2005 non-plug-in does the same thing. Every 3 minutes. Like clock work. Annoying!
