Exactly. It could be something that happens to gen 3 Prius and not gen 2 Prius. Being in the correct forum might help.

I looked around the wiring and may have noticed somthing that looks like possibaly “rat poop” on top of the inverter. Is it possibal the code wont go away because the rat chewed a wire and that wire is the readon it stays on constantly? Just thinking as a long shot

 

This is the weirdest story I've heard all year.

There are around 28 ECUs in a Gen 3 Prius, depending on the option level.



Do you have access to a laptop with Techstream, or to a person with a laptop with Techstream? Somebody other than this smog inspection place or hybrid shop with their "hybrid battery scanner"?

I would like to see what an actual Techstream health check says for this car. With screenshots.

A buddy of mine has tech-stream we connected it to the prius and tried to erase the code but it wont even let us erase it at all. Once we erase it immediately its back right away because it was never even erased to begin with.

Thinking that it might be a hassle to keep bugging my buddy so i should probably get my own techstream if you can recommend which tech stream is good for the 2012 prius please provide a link if you can that i can purchase on a budget

 

I don't know why that didn't insert correctly, but try the link in post #66 now.

It is not that it is not erasing, it is. It is just that the fault exists and resets immediately after you clear it.

 

Right i understand what your saying its just mind boggling at this point really want to figure it out as ive never seen anything like this before
