How to get rid of new car smell?

    I used an oder eater thing I got from Home Depot, just left it is the car and at home I always tried to remember to leave all the windows down to get airflow. Problem with all new cars, the off gassing the interior pieces.

    Drink beer and eat chili then ride around for a couple hours with the windows up.

    Yeah, since the OP posted this in 2006, I'm guessing the new car smell is gone.

    I drove a decade old Honda Accord for 6 years before buying my latest brand new automobile. Personally? I was disappointed in the lack of new car smell. I was looking forward to it, and even though my Fit had >10 miles on it when I got it, the new car smell if any, disappeared quick enough on it's own.
