I was lucky enough when I retired from flying to be able to get paid for doing my hobby, astronomy. I teach it at a local college and have found that the one object in the sky that most people seem to know is the belt of Orion comprised of Alnitak, Alnilam and Mintaka. I like to think of myself as a "middle of the roader," so I picked Alnilam. (See picture at left.....)
AuntBee because I'm everybody's favorite aunt, even if they're not related to me. Bee is my first initial spelled out and also a tribute to one of my favorite books, "The Secret Life of Bees" (a gift from my niece) and also tribute to the Aunt Bea character on Andy Griffith show.
I first got active at pet forums as SpencerTheLion (the avitar), but thought a different name would be more appropiate on a automotive forum. Ironically a lot of avitars here are cats.

When I got accepted to Uni of Michigan grad school, I changed my IM screen name to MichGal007. I decided to use that in PC also.
Mine's a combination of a nickname, part of my last name, and the answer to life, the universe, and everything. Tom
Way back when I got my first PC and signed up for my free AOL trial account it's the first on the list of screen names the system recommended...that must've been 1993 or 1994. Fortunately my last name is uncommon enough that most places I go the efusco name is not taken. And even if it is I've got a couple variations on it that usually aren't taken.
I've been using my screen name for about 10 years or so. I have many many others, but this is the one I try first. I don't remember the significance of it anymore, but I'm sure if was deep and meaningful.
A nickname I got in high school (it's a shortened version of my last name). It's usually not taken, so I go with it.
This screen name was created specially for this forum about a day or two after we bought the Prius. My wife, Megan, drives it to work everyday (34 mile round trip commute to Chicago's far south side). Hence, MegansPrius. Hence, most people think I'm a woman when I post. Hence, plan for next time, think a little bit before creating the screen name.
During my college years, I had a very feminist professor get in an argument about why it was wrong that I called females "chicks." I told her it was empowering; she said it was insulting. I made it a point then to call females "chicks" and males "dudes." As I have grown older, the use of both terms has diminished. However, I don't feel like a "woman" or "lady" or (heaven forbid!) a "girl." I'm still a "chick." And a lively one, at that! Been my screen name for 11 years.

First was a Kaypro 2X running at 2 MHz, I think. It had two floppy drives and ran CP/M. I don't remember when I got the Kaypro.
