I did a Dr prius check on my prius 16 which resulted with 72% charge. But it showed 1,2,8,9 blocks as imbalanced. How there could be such significant difference? I don’t have any codes from hybrid battery but the mpg is around 35. What’s the normal cell/block voltage should be on Gen 4?
Your car has 28 modules, just like the Gen 2 and Gen 3, but the Gen 4 does not monitor "14 blocks" like those Gens, it only monitors 9. This results in the voltages being double for 5 sensor points. The voltages in your photos are normal. Apparently Dr Prius doesn't account for the difference between Gen 4 and previous models.
I bought it few months ago from an auction and it had 332k miles - I had to get engine leak fixed and also mechanic replaced the engine control module from junk yard donor car. Before these reps it was giving a decent mpg any around 45. And right now if I drive at night without ac on - it’s giving a good mpg. But when Ac is on its constant battle at 35 mpg. The ac is not cold enough as well. So maybe that’s also contributing to mpg deterioration?
I emailed him with the same question. He said it was because the outer blocks had half of the sensors to save money. He said he would also update the application to not show this as defective on future tests
