My T spirit has Bluetooth for making and recieving handsfree calls but doesn't support audio streaming. So..I have plugged a Bluetooth 5 receiver into the aux input. My phone (xiaomi mi 8) was already paired with the car handsfree Bluetooth so I just paired it again with the Bluetooth receiver. I select the aux input on the radio control and now I can stream audio (radio, Spotify, Google music, Waze navigation etc ) and then then when a call comes in it gently interrupts the music and I can talk handsfree via the car system. It then switches back to media streaming at the end of the call. I am not sure how or why it works but assume that it's because the Bluetooth receiver and my phone both support Bluetooth 5. I can also use Android auto but it's a bit buggy at the moment eg I need to turn on Spotify before android auto otherwise I can't select it from the android auto menu. Overall it's a great breakthrough for me and has very simply updated the in car system for the cost of the bluetooth reciever (about £35). The sound is excellent. Model number bt-b19. It's a handy little unit that can work for sending or recieving Bluetooth. The only other requirement was a micro usb cable to charge the bt-b19 and a short cable with stereo 3.55mm plugs at each end to connect into the car aux input. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
