Above 62mph in EV mode or the limit in HV mode (about 40mph, I think), the ICE will turn. But when slowing down above those speed limits, will it always be in engine compression mode, or can it also freewheel (no compression, no fuel)? What I am trying to figure out is, in B HV mode, while the engine will certainly be turning if you are going fast enough, is it known to be in compression mode and not regenerating (assuming battery capacity)?

    Lately?
    Almost every day.
I exit the interstate onto a surface street almost every afternoon in B-mode.

    Is it worth it?
That depends on how you drive, and more importantly...WHY you drive, but if you're a hypermiler or an eco-geek, then no... it's probably not.

It's one of those Kirk/Spock things.

You don't NEED the B-mode unless you live or drive in places with a comma in their elevation signs.
Even if this mode fails to make it into the G5, people are going to be arguing over it for years to come.

That's just how Prius drivers roll.

    YMMV. :)
