Is there a vast difference in sound between base and advanced?

Keep in mind however that while the base seat moves up/down, the advanced seat has separate adjustments for lowering/raising the back and front if I remember correctly.

The reception on HD radio is terrible here in Long Island, I do not know if I'm always in a Multipath dark hole :censored:

Just joined the forum because I am starting to shop the Prius - haven't owned a car in over 20 years (subway rider) so I am terified about making every newbie mistake +1. When I look at the Prius V it seems to me the description of the stereo system is identical in the standard ( 8 JBL green edge speakers) as well as what comes in ADV package. What differs it seems is the NAV system (premium versus display) and size of screen - as well as the safety features. But reading this post seems to imply otherwise. Can someone help clarify.

    Additional questions:
I buy the standard in Prius V can I really upgrade the system without screwing up the car ?
If I buy the IV and get the solar roof package is this the same stereo as in Prius V ADV
Finally assuming I buy a V without the ADV is it really worth buying that as opposed to Prius IV with solar roof package - what else does the V give me that makes it worth buying over IV besides better lights and bigger tires

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance

First of all the Solar Roof is basically eye candy. Very little practical benefit. Some in this forum have utilized dealer discounts and Toyota Financial Services (Zero % interest and up to $5,000 subsidy) on the Plug-in to bring the price nearly to the level 4/5 of the non PIP. The advantages of the plug in are huge. It brings real savings. It sounds like you like some premium features, if so you might find it worthwhile to do a comparison with OTD pricing on both models (Level 5 and Advanced w/incentives). Big down side is best deals are on east coast. I drove 900 miles to get mine--worth every minute.

Back on topic. This morning I went to Church and I had been listening to some inspirational music through BT yesterday. I was surprised when I drove this morning the music automatically picked up where I left off. I thought the Lord was returning !! I noticed this also with audiobooks. That really amazed me. My wife and I were remarking in how much richer and fuller the sound is in this PIP compared t0 the 2008 level 6 we traded in on this adv. PIP. Same music sounds much better and the system in the 2008 was a decent system.
