Glad to see I'm not alone.

Yeah, that makes sense. It certainly sounds a lot easier.

i'd rather have a cobra with an original drive train over a prius drive train. ;)

I think for overall entertainment and the opportunity to see people's surprised faces at the traffic lights, a Prius with a Cobra drive train might be more fun.

Because I'm very quiet, shy and retiring.

Actually, it's because posts in FHOP don't count as full posts.

Yes. I joined to see whether I wanted a Prius. I've asked the occasional tech question, but more often than not I've been able to find the answer on an old thread. And I'm more of a gossiper than a tech person.

To the OP I'd say, I almost never say it can't be done, because with enough time and effort I've seen some amazing things accomplished.

But in specific to this proposal I'd ask, What is your primary goal?

If your goal is simply to make an older or classic car, more reliable? I think there are far easier routes to achieve that end, than trying to turn a classic or older vehicle into a hybrid.

If your goal is to try to Frankenstein a Hybrid and a well liked classic vehicle, into something the world has never or rarely seen? Then the only way to do it...is to do it.

I suspect it would not necessarily be impossible, BUT clearly WOULD be very challenging. I'll admit at this point I'm NOT the person to ask about any specific approaches to this proposed project.

In short analogy, I would say the project you are proposing would be akin in engineering execution to climnbing Everest. Which is fine, if reaching the summit of Everest IS your goal.

But if your goal is just a nice climb and a good view? There are many less daunting climbs one can take..

He does in the politics section.
There doesn't seem to be publicly.

There was some issue, with trolls, spammers, I don't remember exactly, running up their post counts in FHOP to gain access to posting privileges locked to newcomers.

I've built cars and have repaired two aircraft in my days breathing air... building it to be safe and sound is the real priority...

More importantly... if you do choose to build-it-yourself... video your work...

I still have a problem with the doors though... I love the car's look... but hate the doors.
