     Ouch!.... that didn't help my imagination either.... But I do think you have a secret admirer!
After yesterday's session on 'priusex', I'm not sure I'm qualified to be saving anything. I will try to discuss colour without resorting to 'off colour'. Barcelona sounds interesting, though I haven't seen one yet, because I think red and gold is an attractive combination. I wanted to buy the Salsa, but was told it would be a six month wait, so I reluctantly accepted the silver on the lot. I didn't want it at first, thinking silver was too common. The first time I washed it, a neighbour remarked that it looked like a spaceship, so I can identify with the 'futuristic' look. With the wheels being the same colour as the body, it looks like it's made from a solid piece of metal - monochrome or monolithic, somebody said earlier. Now, I wouldn't trade Hyo Silver for any other colour.
XLR8, I am so with you on windsprings' avatar - brrr! C'mon, windsprings - show us a kinder, gentler you.
Here in Denver seaside pearle is the common color. I was glad that I wasn't stuck with that. Driftwood pearle is probably second, or maybe white. I never would have picked silver as a color that I'd want but to be honest I rather like it. Not sure it that's "revisionist" or not. I just took what was on the lot because it was there. Happened to be silver.
Woo-hoo! Woo-hoo! Woo-hoo! Getting my Barcelona Red, package #8 (the one I "stole" from windstrings ) this weekend or Monday!
Hey.. that really stinks!      Humm wait a minute!... I can't take mine till after Jan1... I'm too greedy to pass up 3100.00 bucks!
I had the same Tax dilemma. But... the dealeship wouldn't hold the car for me for that long. ...and I don't want to miss the HOV stickers. Besides, this way you get to write off some in 2005 and some in 2006, especially if you're using it for work or business. So I plunged.
Thats crapola!.... what if you pay for it and give him 50 bucks to store it in the back and take possession after the 1st? Write up all the paperwork to that effect.
The problem is that dealers need to report a sale immediately so they get their maximum allocation in the future. I believe that if they indeed report it sold to Toyota in December, yet hold it for you to "buy" and take possession of in January, it will catch up with you come tax time since Toyota will probably have to have a list of VIN numbers for the first 60,000 hybrids sold in '06 -- and yours won't be on it.
Bummer.... humm.. that means if mine comes too quick, Ill have to pass it up for the next... that stinks!
