The temperature in which restaurants sell their coffee has nothing to do with bacteria, otherwise they'd be selling their soft drinks and smoothies at 150 degrees as well. It's because hot coffee is supposed to be...well...hot. IMO, putting warning labels on things that are obviously hazardous is asinine. It's all because some moron did something negligent and sued someone for their own negligence.
A proper cup of coffee is made with 180-190 degree (F) water. It has nothing to do with killing microscopic lifeforms.
