My brake and ABS lights came on a couple of days ago. I was towed to my dealer, and after two days rummaging around in the car's innards, they think it's an ECU problem. Their price for the replacement is over $2,000.00. I am hoping to find a part for less money. It's the skid control unit, part #89540-47060. If anyone knows where to find this, the information would be much appreciated. Thanks so much for your help. Forgot to say, it's a 2004.
Thanks for the info - I just sent Steve an email. See you're from Boston - my dealership is Bernardi Toyota in Framingham and, so far, they are clueless about this problem, even after calling Toyota USA. Have ordered the part on ebay, but if it doesn't work will have to improvise. How do you like your plug-in? That could be my next move (a used one) if we can't get my current wonderful Prius working.
