That's down south. Mud slides if you live on the side of a hill, but in the burbs, we don't have that. Or fires on occasion, and that has really interrupted life for a short period only the last couple of years. Just the occasional quake, but the threat of them keeps the out of staters away. But the consistent sun in the summer and not extreme weather I'm happy with our locale.
The jet stream is possibly taking aim at Mass. We had near freezing.. could not plant flowers til after Mothers Day (rule is Mothers day here). Now we got upper 80s...so the usual cold then hot, no between
So are about 8 million other people...so there must be 'something' to it. I treat it like NYC. GREAT place to visit!
Some places you visit, you actually might like to stay. We left the Nor Cal area in 2006 and it took until 2014 to find a way back, but glad we did. Very low humidity and year round nice weather is hard to beat.
I have a brother that's doing 20 to life a little east of you, and I lived on the left coast for a while in the late 80s.....so I'm hip to why people do it. ....it's just not "my" thing. My brother isn't doing "that" kinda hard time....job and family just have him welded in place for a while.
