I have a 2005 with no GPS, I installed an IPOD interface unit last week from NEO. It looks identical to the DICE unit so it must be the same device just different labels. Yesterday on the way home, I experienced the same failures described by others on this thread (no energy bars, no information display, no peeping when buttons are pressed, etc.). I just went to the car and disconnected the NEO device and everything is back to normal. Then I reconnected the NEO device and everything still works. I have a call into NEO to see if they have any suggestions or an updated unit that does not cause this problem.

I also have a 2005 but mine does have the NAV system. I have experienced this problem the entire time I have owned my Prius. I finally went to Toyota and had my MFD replaced (I had documented the no data events). After having the MFD replaced, the problem still exists. I am now thinking that the issue is the XM radio that I have connected to my stereo.

I have the Terk XMDirect unit connected to the stereo. My question is...... Does the DICE connect to the same port as the XMDirect unit? If so, does anyone have a good solution to the issue? I am finding that the problem occurs most with humid weather. (It has rained a lot in Chicago this week.). I spend about 20Hrs. a week in my car and can not stand to listen to all of the commercials on regular radio so I don't necessarily want to drive around for a couple of weeks with the XMDirect disconnected.

I have found however that if I pull over and turn the car off then on, the radio works fine. Therefore, it is not an issue with wiring so it must be a software issue. Being an electrical and computer engineering graduate, I would like to think that I can figure this out but am currently at a loss. Any ideas? Should I go back to Toyota?

    Thanks for any help! :p
