2014 Prius v. All modes seem to be a tooth or two off the settings. The actuator is responsive, moves freely, but doesn’t seem to do exactly as it’s supposed to. Face vents have a little air coming out the floor. Face and floor mode seems to be just face and floor. Floor mode blows on the floor and a little defrost. Floor and defrost mode is pretty much all defrost. When I click just the defrost button, it’s just defrost. In floor and defrost mode, the vent flap closes all the way to the floor vents, visually see this. In face mode, I can watch the flap close to the floor vents but leaves at most 1/8 inch open and not fully closed. I can visually see the white gears move and the alignment square tooth is aligned. I am not certain how long this has been going on but it angers the wife as she is the one primarily driving it. She doesn’t know when it started. Is it possible that the actuator tooth is off by, say, one tooth? We had a cold winter, could the floor vent have stuck closed, the actuator skipped a tooth then that jump broke the vent free and now it’s off by a tooth? Again, no sound, runs smoothly, and is nearly exactly as it should run, but is off by just a tiny bit.

Its not likely its off a tooth as it self calibrates each damper. Face always gets a little flow in any mode but is max flow in face and recirculate.

Its not clear what you don't like. Not enough air to cool the car?

Its possible Damper Position I is not working but I would check the cabin filter first for major clogging such as a nest.

And sometimes the fan cages below the cabin filters look like squirrels had lived and eaten there… chock full of nuts.

The old Honda CR-V was one such example.
