Yeah, I started realizing that. The issue yesterday was the temperature, just too cold, wanted to get mobile. But in better weather yeah. The last time I had to do a repair I had decent residual pressure. But with this one I had more-or-less zero pressure. Even so when I backed the screw out it started shooting puffs of dust. I did get everything set up in advance, to minimize the time nothing was in the hole. I had no problems with the rasp, but while trying to get the needle and plug in the tire was deflecting away, due to lack of pressure.
I get that. I live in Calif. so I have not had frigid temps to deal with. BUt we are now having a clod snap (for us ) getting into the low 40's at night. I know, shirt sleeve weather for some folks! [quote... I had no problems with the rasp, but while trying to get the needle and plug in the tire was deflecting away, due to lack of pressure.[/quote] Not clear what you mean. It was hard / could not get the hook w/plug into the hole? How did you resolve it and get the plug into the hole?
^ Just that with near totally deflated tire, the face of the tire doesn't resist enough, bows inward. Same thing you were saying. Got through eventually.
