If it wasn't an emergency before you tried to use Park as an emergency brake, it would be afterward. Tom
No, I mean the brake pedal to the left of the primary one. Park, I'm sure won't engage. Even on an older car that manually engages the pawl, it won't engage, it merely skips over the engagement dogs and makes a noise not unlike missing a gear in a manual transmission car. I would assume any "emergency brake" wouldn't lock in position would it?
It was a joke. I'll have to use my [humor] [/humor] flags next time. The Prius won't let the parking pawl engage until the car's speed is very low. It's still fast enough to make for a good jolt, but you don't get that grinding sound. Tom
Don't be. I've been having a lot of trouble with that lately. Perhaps my sense of humor is taking a turn toward the surreal. Tom
On these forums, you can be talking to anyone from someone with a Doctorate in Physics to someone that honestly has no idea of why you need gas in the car in the first place, without being able to tell which your conversing with. I have several times caught myself from making a smarta** comment because they might actually be serious, they might not know what the gas is for, you never know.
