My wife had to borrow my car a few weeks ago. When she brought it back, she complained that the radio (JBL w/6-disc changer) wasn't working. I went outside and checked it -- everything seemed fine, and I attributed it to operator error. Yesterday, I got in the car and started it up, then punched up the FM band and got ... nothing. AM and CD both worked fine. FM seemed to scan all channels and stopped where I would expect it to -- but no sound. Powered car off, then turned it back on -- FM was now working as normal. Does anybody have a clue? I sure don't.
The FM band uses a preamp on the antenna. Perhaps the preamp is getting fussy and power cycling reset it. Tom
