Congrats! I have a 2006 currently with my 2013 Honda Insight. Looking to sell the Insight sometime soon though in preparation for the G4, or a slightly used Plug-in Advanced model. I've had a lot of Prius' since I got my first when I was 15, and they're by far the best value for the money. I'd be excited if I were you!
Could I ask OP and other posters who have had Prii before how many miles they had on their old Prius when getting rid of it?? (I'm puzzled as I drive each car until it catastrophically fails, and I estimate 10 years and over 200,000 miles to get to that point with our 2012 hatchback.) Thanks for info!
I'm a little puzzled too, by more-or-less "lateral" trades. Our case is a little unusual: garage kept, had it a bit over 4 years now, just passed 50,000 km mark, and the rate we put the km's on is dropping, as we slip into retirement mode. Unless something goes REALLY wrong, wouldn't trade in the foreseeable future.
Title of thread is funny. For me it would be OH NO, not another Prius. And even then it would have to be given to me
i let mine go every 4 years or so. usually between 30 and 40,000 miles. but there always seems to be a good reason. the first two went to my daughter, and i really wanted the pip.
Yah, I have that escape clause also, so I have given cars and an RV to charity and gave our 2002 Saturn to my son so I could justify getting our 2012 hatchback. But curious if the experience of the high-mileage Prius owners discussed on PC will apply to us. Wish somebody had hard data on repair records, ultimate longevity, etc.
