Gen 2 148K Base. Since purchasing the car (2 weeks ago) only 3 speakers work (2 tweeters, and 1 drivers side door speaker). Today I swapped it with another unit from a Gen 2 that I got at a junk yard. No fix. The back of the head units was slightly different but all of the connections fit. My Unit is Unit A and Unit B is the salvage unit (the photo of A was pulled from Youtube, I didn't take any photos of my unit when it was out). I have adjusted the fade and balance to confirm sound is only coming from three speakers. What should I do? I would like to avoid paying someone a diagnostic fee if possible. I would have swapped the speaker first, or at least tested it. If the speaker is ok, I would have checked the wiring back to the head unit. Would that be something you could investigate.
I plan to test the speakers when I figure out what to do to test them. I had read the pre-amps inside the (HU) head unit could have gone bad that’s why i started there.
