Many years ago a bank put in $20 bills in a $10 dispenser of an ATM. A number of ATM users suddenly took out as many "$10" bills as they could. Unfortunately for them, when the bank discovered the error, they automatically deducted the amounts from the accounts. All complaints were roundly ignored by the bank.
Back in the early 90's, I was in the Ft. Knox, KY area. I withdrew money from an ATM machine. I had planned to withdraw $400 but instead of all $20 bills there were two $100 bills in the mix. I'm sure the video cam caught my eyes opening wider. I slipped the money into my pocket and went shopping. Before five that day, I walked into the bank and told them of the error. The branch manager cracked a smile and she took me back out to the machine... There was a huge sign over top of the machine telling of the extra prize money for Derby Week. I'd been very, very lucky and got two of the ten $100 bills in the machine that day.
