Get that shudder ready! Summer's comin' and I haven't even figured out how to hypermile this thing. I've taken the same trip before in my '07, and the mileage improved as the engine broke in, the tires lost the initial "stick" and I learned more about the car. I was able to beat 60 MPG on a couple of those tanks, so I'm hoping to hit that number (beat it, really) by next year. This time I really was aiming only at getting to St. Paul as quickly as possible. I was able to go more leisurely on my return trip, though I spent some more time pressing that darned PWR button and driving through the hills. The weather was colder, yet the headwind was not as strong. That return portion of the trip was 54.8 MPG. All the time! A great natural phenomenon.
