http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/cellphones/...izon-027895.php THURSDAY, DEC 16 2004 LG-VX8100 w/ Bluetooth on Verizon filed under Cellphones : LGDocuments filed with the FCC on Tuesday reveal a new LG Bluetooth clamshell-style camera phone coming to Verizon's network. Feature details on the VX-8100 are somewhat scarce, but it's definitely tri-mode, dual-band CDMA and presumably the successor to LG's (still not out) VX-8000. It's probably safe to assume a greater-than-1-megapixel camera given the 8000's 1-megapixeler (It's safe to assume that's not a word). It's pretty much impossible to speculate about a release date or street price, but if I had to guess I'd put it in the third or fourth quarter of 2005. We'll see. (Thanks, Bobby!)
http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/smartphones...hone-027864.php THURSDAY, DEC 16 2004 Verizon (Finally) Offers XV6600 Smartphone filed under SmartphonesVerizon is playing catch up with today's announcement that they'll be picking up the XV6600, their rebrand of the HTC smartphone, MDA III, PPC6601, et al. It'll retail at $550 and that's with a two year agreement, so while it's expensive it isn't quite as steep as Sprint's PPC6601 at $630. It's the same hardware, so your Bluetooth, VGA screen, et cetera, are all in place. Verizon: Bringing you yesterday's phones today.
They had better not! If they do allow OBEX on a new phone, they're going to have a couple of billion screaming V710 owners with which to deal.
