My 08 Touring prius I recently got has a backup camera, and for it's time im sure it was amazing. However, would it be possible to replace it with a newer one that perhaps have better quality, those lines that show your path, or the sensors that can beep?
Many perceived image quality issues with these are just dirty lenses, though after some years of hard UV exposure the outer lens cover can cloud up much like a headlight lens. If you also want something that can key in lane width or path trace markers you're probably better off switching to an aftermarket camera kit and then adapting it to the input on the existing display. Beepy bumpers can be added, there are aftermarket kits. From what I've seen they are a lot of work to install.
