Looks like I have another challenge, and that is to figure out which dealer I should go to in my area. There are 3 in my immediate area (Raleigh/Durham) and the reviews for each dealer are mixed ranging from ' fairly abysmal' to 'eh,' on the service side, with each averaging low marks by reviewers on service and at least 2 of the dealers getting poor marks on the sales side too (bait 'n switch tactics, etc, etc). I'm concerned because of course the service after one buys their Toyota is paramount to the experience of owning the car, particularly while it's under warranty. I could, I suppose, go outside my local geo area to purchase, but I'd still need to deal with a local dealer for service during the warranty terms. Thoughts?
Actually, you don't have to get your car serviced at the dealer, unless it is something that is under warranty . For oil changes and such , you can have someone else, as long as you save the receipts. I never take my car to the dealer unless its something that is under warranty. Hopefully you will seldom be seeing your dealer.
