I liked this article in the Dallas News -- it's written by a columnist (Scott Burns) who drove an '04 Prius for 5,000 miles, from Texas to Mexico to L.A. and back. At the end, he dubbed it his personal "Liberty Ship", due to its fuel economy and savings. Liked Burns' closing lines:
