In the US, Wal-mart appears to be the best price for Mobile 0W20. $25.47 for 5 US quarts - about 5L. (4.73) Mobil 1 0W-20 Advanced Fuel Economy Full Synthetic Motor Oil, 5 qt. - Walmart.com I have imported some for my brother in Canada from time to time.
Today in Cornwall cheapest supermarket gas is £1.14/litre = Canadian $1.890/litre = US$1.41/liter. Other brands and stations will be more expensive, particularly along highways!
Well, a few years ago it was a good deal. I think the exchange rate went the other direction for a while.
In the upper midwest US, gasoline prices are around $2.40/gallon, which works out to 0.63 USD per Litre / 0.85 CAD per Litre / 0.51 GBP per Litre
Now you see our fuel prices, you know why Hybrids & EVs are a tough sell in the US but pickup trucks, SUVs and mini vans sell well.
I think population density and distance affects vehicle sales as well. When there are a lot of people close together, it makes more sense to buy smaller vehicles or just rely on bikes and public transportation. When the people are spread out over a wider area, driving becomes a necessity and people get bigger vehicles to take more people or stuff at a time and reduce trips while increasing comfort.
Use of bicycles is largely confined to relatively level areas, like the Netherlands and flat metro areas. In places where it's all hills and rollercoaster roads, cyclists are typically weekend enthusiasts in lycra forming rolling chicanes on our narrow single lane roads, whining about motorists endangering them. It seems it's OK for them to save fuel by cycling, but industry and public transport as well as the private driver must waste fuel in endless queues waiting to get past them safely! Now, if I were a grumpy old man I'd be having a rant about this. So it's a good thing I'm not, eh?
The Canadian auto industry singlehandedly enshrines imperial gallons: they love to quote miles per gallon fuel consumption in ads, especially highway mpg, for gas guzzlers. Then at the bottom of the page in small print note that the gallons are imperial, significantly bigger than US.
Yes, but he's quoting the auto industry (presumably press and auto brand blurb). Anyway, as our gallon is bigger than yours, how many points are in your US gallon? There are eight in ours, or four quarts of you prefer.
4 US quarts or 8 US pints. A quart is 32 US fluid ounces. so a gallon is 128 ounces Comparison of the imperial and US customary measurement systems - Wikipedia.
You guys are some kind of crazy. We only have 20 fluid ounces in our pints. No wonder we all confuse one another!
