    I've rented a Prius twice from Toyota 101 in Redwood city, halfway between San Francisco and San Jose. Tel. # is (650) 365-5000

    About a year ago, I was able to rent one from Budget at Orange County Airport. Budget also had them at SFO. Last month, I asked Budget about renting another one (in San Diego) and the prices they were charging were astronomical. Budget was classifying it as a specialty rental...like you'd end up paying for a Mustang Convertible or Hummer. I guess it's another case of supply/demand, yadda, yadda, yadda!
