07 prius, All turn signals work but the right signal "INDICATOR" in the dash doesn't. Is there anyone that sells new Led's to repair this problem?
Well, it's POSSIBLE that the LED itself has failed, but really unlikely. I would want to make sure that power for the right turn indicator is actually reaching the cluster. Even then, the LED is on a sub-board that connects to the main board with a cable - that cable might not be fully seated. (If the CM is out, then it would be a good time to replace the potentially bad capacitor on the main board while you're in there) You can use very low voltage to test the LED on it's board. Or send the Combination Meter to someplace like TexasHybridBatteries.com for repair (if you know that power for that LED is present at the correct pin). They also do the capacitor repair. Another option would be to get a used CM for parts from a wrecking yard or ebay. (if you wanted to use the complete CM you would have whatever odometer reading was on the donor car) Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Thanks for the reply. Who sells the led light itself? I will solder a new one in if I can locate a place to purchase one.
I don't know of anyone who sells that LED specifically for a Prius. I would expect you would have to figure what type of LED it is (the form factor), and measure the voltage on the circuit board. Then go to Digi-key or Mouser electronics supply to locate something that will work. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
