This has been very interesting. If I ever end up needing to make another set of ramps I will absolutely remember to crib them. At the time I just needed to change the oil, realized I couldn't slide under the car so easy, and improvised as best my budget would allow.

Over the period of more than 10 years, my dad, my husband and I, all engineers of the aerospace industry developed the universal knife edge pinch weld adapter that perfectly matches the jacking point of all Toyotas.

It fits the pinch weld better than the Toyota supplied scissors jack of which the slot is too wide and fits sloppily.

It converts a 1/8 x 2-1/4 inch section of the linear pinch weld to a 2.8 square inch support area on the jack. The jack supports a 7/8"x2/1/4' section of the rail on the inside of the knife edge fin on the strengthen point engineered to support the quarter section of the car. The supporting block is made with ultra durable UHMW Spectra plastic.

Photos show how this works with the Harbor Freight 1-1/2 ton flat top low profile aluminum racing jack. A bowl shaped jack top would require a block of wood in the manner Mendel has shown in his photos.
