Does anybody know if the Toyota XM radio works in Alaska? I know that you cannot 'officially' subscribe to XM if you live in Alaska, but I've heard some mixed reports on people's success with getting XM reception up here. Does anyone who lives in AK have the satellite radio installed? Or maybe someone from the lower 48 who drove their Prius up here on vacation with satellite radio installed? I'd like to know that I actually have reception before I shell out the $300 plus for the hookup.
Well, I did a quick google search and what I've read so far is that XM is very spotty but Sirius is setting up repeaters in Alaska. Perhaps that's the better way to go.
