i just got gas today and for the first time since Dec 8, 2004, i have exceeded 4 cents per mile. the reason i got gas today (no emergency here, still had 3 bars) was because i saw a blurb on the news that says that gas will go up as much as 25 cents per gallon in the next 2-3 days. it was only 1.979 but coupled with cold weather and short trips, (i make at least 2 0ne mile trips a day) my mileage on this tank was only 44.2 mpg... *sigh* things keep going like this in another 2-3 years or so, i will be paying almost as much for gas in my Prius as i was in my Ford a year ago. (for those of you that dont remember gas was about 1.70 a gallon last year.
"it was only 1.979" Dave... I couldn't help noticing this comment in your post... and it reminded me of a time you may not recall... when "regular" was 19¢/gallon and "premium" was 21¢. Here in Dallas today it runs $1.77 - $1.83. SIGH  I suppose I've identified myself as an "old Coot!"
ok... i was gonna drive the truck. but havent heard anything back from the loan company...(need gas money)
39.9¢/litre back in 97 54.9¢/litre around 99-00? 70ish around 01? 80-90¢/litre ever since. Perhaps Frank or wilco can confirm this
I'd say Tideland was about spot on, 95.9 a liter today. And wouldn't you know it I've done 690 on this tank and have one bar left to go. So I'll get caught on this price hike.
wow... I got 592 on my last tank down to the last bar (just down from 2 so it's not blinking yet). I refuelled on Mon. They were at 85.9 (-3.5) from Tues-Thurs ish
703.2 to the ding. filled at 92.1 that sucked. Now have to make it to the 25 of this month to do a 1 year average and total. Looks like about 5.6 for the year including driving it from Regina to here.
nice! <sigh> I'm getting there =) I have 300kms right now with 6 bars to go. I'm standing at 5.64 since I got the car in Oct.
wait till the warm weather arrives you'll do good. I don't really baby the thing I just drive it like I would a normal car, other than I pay attention to the instant mpg readout on the consumption screen and try and drop it back if I can without creating a traffic hazzard.
ohh.. that's not bad then since I actually do lift off at every crest and coast down every decline if possible without ticking anyone off
Diesel here is 2.14 per US gallon I found when I fuelled the truck yesterday. It actally fell three cents from a week earlier. I can almost see the fuel gauge drop, usually its 55 per fillup, or more.
For what ever reason the diesel price is the highest in Washington and BC. Truckers who are not parking their tucks are just putting enough in them to get out of state. It has been ugly. Prices have been going up and we are going to be taken for a ride.
