self programming smart key or dumb key on smart key system

    i need to get a new key programmed asap and no dealer will do it for under $100 in la/santa monica. i believe there is no way to program a smart key yourself, so i might have to do the dumb key. but is it possible for me to follow the method that seems to work if i have a smart key system? will the two play together?

    I think you're stuck with going to a dealer. The car is programmed to accept the new SKS fob. The fob is not programmed. Try another dealer to see if you can get a better price.
