@Mendel Leisk beat me to the Memento comment. But there are other films that could benefit from it. A Quantum of Solace could make more sense this way than it did in its official release format. And Tenet. ---- I've never used Roku. Between Netflix and all the free on-demand services from our free-to-air channels, I've never really needed it. It does sound a bit ropey.
Roku does let you see Daniel Radcliff portray Weird Al. The latter encourages piracy if Roku isn't available to you. Where To Watch 'Weird: The Al Yankovic Story' Movie Online
Yep it's very hard to keep up with the new slangs, lingo, and words these days. "DM me" "PM me" "I got catfished on insta" And how many of you even knew who Balenciaga was a week ago? As a manager who works with younger folks, you learn something new almost daily but we, also, have to help them understand some of the things we say. "Sounds like a broken record" and most have no idea who Gilligan and Monty Python are!!
In gaslight the movie, gaslights just went dim for no obvious reason and the tragic victim had thus another reason to question her sanity. It did not involve any leakage of piped gases. I must have made that part up. Oh wait are lights going dim around me?
Anyone remember that movie, where Woody Allen says, out of the blue: "Am I out of focus?"? And he is, lol.
King George in Hamilton singing "I'm so blue" .... The first person who tried to explain Gaslight to me made it sound as if Jack (or Paul, or Gregory, depending on which version you're watching) manipulated the gas pressure on purpose to make her see the lights dimming and feel like she's losing it. It's not quite that. The pressure drops because he's turning more lights on, in a boarded-up part of the house that no one should be able to get to, and that's why she sees the lights dim. But when she asks about it, of course he can tell her it's all in her deranged mind, and it works because of the success of all his other, more direct and deliberate, ways of making her doubt herself. I've never seen or read the stage play, but having seen both films now, I'd have to say that while she is victimized, in neither film would you necessarily call her a tragic victim by the end.
Flying Forwards, Facing Backwards. ...Captivating Tales from a Vulcan and Nimrod Air Electronics Officer By Jim Walls. OK. So I'll save you some time, money, or an Amazon credit. I find so far that it's a really interesting and engaging read....BUT(!!!) I have I've actually heard a for-real Nimrod's radar on an ESM set before. Their job was to find and possibly kill me. One of my jobs was to help the boss keep that from happening. SO... I WOULD find it to be an interesting and fascinating book. Others might find it to be an effective sleep aid. It is a rather well written book, which is not terribly surprising. The UK actually has some fine primary schools, and I've always found that their military technicians are extraordinarily well trained and very intelligent.
