Glad to hear that a dead fob can start the car. I was somewhat fearful that the likely, and unpredictable, demise of the fob cell would turn my beautiful Prius carriage into a pumpkin.
Can You Use a Non-SKS Fob as a Backup with the SKS System? I want to keep a spare Fob in the car with the manual key in a hide-a-key box. I don't want to deal with disabling the SKS signal by removing the battery and I'd like to keep the cost of the spare Fob low. Has anyone been able to get their dealer to program a non SKS Fob to work with a Prius with the SKS system?
