    i put in some led recess lights last summer, very happy with the color and brightness.

    In my neck of the woods, the waste management company recycles them for free. You live in a non-fly-over State, so you might be covered too :whistle:.

    yes, i can take them to the recycling center. i was curious what they do with them, i'll have to ask. i'm sure they'll say, 'someone picks them up'.

    Glass, metal end caps, and the mercury are all recycled and repurposed. Looks like there are many different systems that can do this. Here is the process at the University of Manchester:
