I think PiP inverter is newer efficient also. It wasn't part of the Gen3 inverter recall and it is rated 49 MPG highway (instead of 48 MPG).
I'm not sure if I'm imagining it, but I'd say the PiP has a bit more responsiveness at moderate throttle in full EV mode than the Gen 3 does in HV mode.

Im waiting on a few people to get back to me. PiP or liftback, Ill pick up the best deal. I have another car, so there is no rush. I would rather keep the mileage low, as I drive at least 25K a year. Thanks for all the info!
I love this flexibility the PIP is giving me in over-hilly trip, allows me to decide how I want to use those downhill miles-no ICE - as MPG improvement in HV or miles added to EV miles to be used later on...
